We are pleased to invite you to participate to the 7th International EMBRN Mast cell and Basophil meeting, which takes place this year in the lovely city of Marseille on the French Riviera.
The meeting will be held at the Medical Faculty of the Aix-Marseille University, which is ideally located close to the major touristic areas and to the old harbor of Marseille. Marseille enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The weather is usually sunny with temperatures in October being around 20°C during the day and 12°C during the night. In autumn some thunderstorms are possible.
We plan to put together an exciting programme covering many topics of mast cell and basophil biology ranging from their involvement in infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases, proliferative diseases, allergy and autoimmunity. Both fundamental issues and translational aspects of research will be covered. We also encourage junior investigators to join us in the meeting to enrich their training and to share their work as we will also include young investigator oral and poster sessions, with poster sessions being associated with the traditional "Marseillan Apero" to stimulate scientific discussion in a relaxing atmosphere.
The meeting will also be important as the elections for the next EMBRN presidency will come up during the EMBRN business meeting. Indeed, after having served the network as a president since 2008, Stephan Bischoff has announced during our 6th meeting in Munich that he will step down as well as several board members.
In the hope that you will be able to attend this meeting to keep you updated on all the recent developments in mast cell and basophil research to benefit human health, we look forward to seeing you in Marseille for a successful meeting!
